The Clubhouse Marbella was the place to be last Wednesday (12th February) as it hosted the spectacular official Opening Party for The Legends Tour. The evening, which started at 7pm, welcomed an array of golfing greats, invited guests, and sports enthusiasts for a night of celebration, competition, and camaraderie.
Among the legendary figures in attendance were golf icons José María Olazábal, Colin Montgomerie, Michael Campbell, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who added an air of prestige and excitement to the occasion. Guests were treated to a memorable evening filled with great food, stunning surroundings and engaging sports activities.
For those looking to showcase their skills, The Clubhouse Marbella featured a thrilling “Nearest to the Pin” challenge on their state of the art TrackMan golf simulators. Golfing legend Michael Campbell himself took a swing, adding to the competitive spirit of the evening. Additionally, an F1 simulator competition, hosted by the venue’s sports team, challenged attendees to beat the fastest lap time, creating an electric atmosphere.
The food selection was a real crowd-pleaser, with a variety of delicious bites including mini sliders, king prawn tempura, and yakitori chicken skewers, plus other tasty options that kept everyone coming back for more.
One of the standout moments of the night was a speech and presentation by Javier Gervar from JGolf and Managing Director Wayne Elliott from Sala Group. They spoke about how special the event was and the key role The Clubhouse Marbella plays in supporting The Legends Tour.
The Staysure Marbella Legends tournament, part of the Legends Tour, took place from the 14th-16th February at the prestigious Aloha Golf Club in Marbella, Spain.
This tournament kicked off the 2025 Legends Tour season, featuring a mix of major winners, Ryder Cup legends, and exciting new names in senior professional golf.
The event also offered unique experiences for amateur players, such as the Championship Pro-Am and The Legends Experience, where fans had the chance to play alongside their golfing heroes. In the 2025 edition, English golfer Simon Griffiths secured his second Legends Tour victory with a final round 68, finishing at -15 to claim the title.
Throughout the tournament weekend, The Clubhouse Marbella also hosted a dedicated bar at the Members Pavilion on the 18th tee at Aloha Golf Club, showcasing Sala Hospitality. This exclusive setup provided players, members, and guests with a premium experience, further enhancing the excitement and prestige of the event.
